BIOCONVERSION

Microbial Fermentation

 

Fermentation processes use living micro-organisms, i.e. bacteria, yeast and fungi, to produce high-value molecules from nutrient substrates (biosynthesis) or specific precursors (bioconversion).

 

Considered as microfactories, these microbial cells can be wild type or genetically modified to achieve higher productivity and profitability.

 

Naturamole has a long and rich history in the various fermentation technologies from 1L to 2m3, and our experience in enzymatic catalysis has given us extensive knowledge in this field.

 

As for enzyme catalysis, our integrative approach aims at optimising both the microorganisms - through natural biodiversity screening for wild type microorganisms and synthetic biology for recombinant microorganisms - the fermentation environment - composition of the medium, temperature, pH, feed rate... - and the bioreactor, specifically designed for high productivity.
